FARMING SUSTAINABLY

FARMING SUSTAINABLY

OUR COMMITMENTS

  • We generate much of our own electricity through around 100kWh of solar panels on our packhouse and cold stores.

  • We recycle many of our byproducts. For example, we spread old coir substrate - used in our strawberry operation - onto the cereal and potato land, benefitting the soil.

  • We continue to invest in systems to allow us to clean and reuse irrigation water. We use trickle irrigation on our soft fruit crops which ensures water is not wasted.

  • We are proud to be a LEAF Marque certified farm. “LEAF Marque is an environmental assurance system recognising more sustainably farmed products and is based on the sustainable farming principles of Integrated Farm Management (IFM).”

  • As a member of the Red Tractor Assurance Scheme, we prioritise food safety and sustainability in all our endeavours.

  • We are SQC certified growers of cereals. “Scottish Quality Crops work closely with the farmer to firmly place Scotland's combinable crops at the premium end of the UK and European markets.”

  • We are audited annually by Sedex.
